Commanding Officer
RCMPI would like to assure you, the general public, that the investigation into these cases continues to be a high priority for members of the RCMP and Project KARE. As the Project KARE Task Force evolves, we continue to focus on identifying the individual(s) responsible, in conjunction with gathering and presenting evidence toward the successful prosecution of the person(s) culpable for these deaths.

In cooperation and integration with our policing partners, we are engaging the most recent and sophisticated technologies and implementing comprehensive and innovative investigative strategies to accomplish our goals.  This includes building communication networks and value-add relationships with social agencies, organizations and individuals who provide support to people involved in high risk lifestyles, that is inclusive of sex trade workers.

The tasks and challenges ahead demand compassion, respect, professionalism, dedication, teamwork and specialized skill sets for investigators.  The victim’s families, survivors, loved ones and the general public should expect nothing less than the best. To this end, the members assigned to Project KARE have been carefully selected for these and other proficiencies that respond to excellence in policing.

As the Deputy Commisioner NWR, Commanding Officer for "K" Division, you have my assurance that we will maintain our vigilance in order to bring this investigation to a successful conclusion.  Chief Superintendent Rod Knecht

Philosophy

"No greater honor will ever be bestowed on an officer or a more profound duty imposed on him than when he is entrusted with the investigation of the death of a human being. It is his duty to find the facts regardless of color, lifestyle or creed without prejudice and to let no power on earth deter him from presenting the facts to the court without regard to personality."
